b'POSITIVE FUTURESCASE STUDIESS is a single parent who does not speak English fluently and has three children living with her. She hadaccrued around 5,000 of rent arrears on her housing association flat and 2,000 of debt, mainly to utilitycompanies. She received a Possession Order on her flat and faced eviction and homelessness. PositiveFutures helped her access a legal aid lawyer and accompanied her to the court hearings where thePossession Order was rescinded. She also successfully applied for Discretionary Housing Payment toeliminate her arrears, allowing her to bid on smaller, more affordable flats. J is a single parent with three daughters aged seven and below. Her flat had significant mould, and hereldest daughter had been hospitalised multiple times with severe asthma. We supported her in demandingan inspection from her social landlord, and they carried out remedial repairs to address the dampness. We also applied for funding for a dehumidifier for the childrens room, new bedding, and warm clothing. I was not in a very good place when I was introduced to the Positive Futures Project. I had a number of personal problems, in particular money problems, not of my making, in particular significant perceived monetary rental problems with Islington Council. Things had got so bad that I had taken to drinking heavily after over a year of abstinence, to forget my woes. I find myself looking at myself, looking at fresh and new ideas with focus. Positive Futures gave me support, where I had none, and gave me good advice through very difficult and extremely worrying circumstances. - KFDebt, unemployment and living on low income carries huge stigma and shame in our community.None of the recipients of positive futures services wanted their photo beside their story and we fully respect and support their privacy.Getting a freedom pass that means I can travel before 9am has hugely helped me get to my medical appointments in hospitals all over London andoften require travel early in the morning.- CH46 HNCP IMPACT REPORT 2020 - 2024'
